Shawn Dunbar aka HereAmi
Artist Bio
Being the bridge between his three older brothers and two younger sisters, Shawn has discovered and learned the uniqueness within himself. Now he searches for different outlets in which to express his talents.
As the middle child, Shawn has always had the soul of an entertainer. Following the steps of his older brothers, he became infatuated with music and writing. “My brothers would always try to push me in the direction of sports. But after the games I would go home, sit in my room and find instrumentals to write to in hopes to get on a song and perform with them.” Although he participated in a few school talent shows, it wasn't until after his Junior year of college that he decided to voyage into a career of entertainment. “If there is only one thing that I took from school, it's that you can pick up a book and acquire just about any skill set you want.” And that's just what he did along with taking acting classes and voice lessons.
In 2009, Shawn signed with Susan Wehmann and Moore Creative, two of the major acting agencies in the Twin Cities, and began entertaining in front of the camera. He has worked with clients such as Best Buy, Target, 3M, Subway, along with over 5 featured and short films that have made their way to Netflix and other streaming platforms. He is also represented in the Colorado market through the Donna Baldwin Agency, working in commercials such as Nationwide, Ent Credit Union, Grease Monkey, Red Robin, and many more.
In 2017, Shawn began dabbling in the art of DJing. He saw it as another avenue to express his love for music. It wasn’t until 2021 when Shawn moved to Denver Colorado and got his first opportunity to turn his DJ hobby into a career, working with the TH Entertainment, an established DJ Company in Colorado. He started as the Sales Manager where he broke the sales record each year in that position, before moving into the General Manager position for 2 years to continue helping the company in its growth. He did this while leading all the DJs in the company in events worked each season. He has now worked over 300+ successful weddings and corporate events.
He has a passion for helping people celebrate momentous occasions. 2026 marks the year that Shawn has decided to expand his brand and officially launch HereAmi Entertainments.
